The first round of the FBR Open Thursday was dominated by players who aren't that far away from AARP discounts. But a couple of guys just a year out of college gave the tournament a youthful flavor in the second round Friday. Using monstrous drives longer than some airline routes, J.B. Holmes, 23, shot a 7-under 64 and is 4 strokes behind leader J.J. Henry. Ryan Moore, also 23, was nearly as impressive, shooting a 6-under 65, putting him 8 strokes off the lead. Both were in diapers when they swung a golf club for the first time, so they don't rattle easy. Neither was bothered Friday by the sometimes raucous crowd at the TPC of Scottsdale. advertisement
