Pick any trail, and there's bound to be less foot traffic than on an average Sunday. Want to get high? Climb Mission Peak for the best view of the Bay Area you can find on foot. (On the border of Santa Clara and Alameda counties, it's a strenuous hike, particularly from the Fremont side. There are other routes from Sunol, Ohlone College and even Milpitas. Watch the weather.)
