But that's where the similarity in styling ends; unlike the latest Mustang or Mini, the latest FJ isn't a retro-mobile. Rather, in the words of its designer -- Jin Kim, a 28-year-old Pasadena Art Center College of Design graduate -- the vehicle has a "modern industrial" look. Special to The Press-Enterprise Toyota's FJ Cruiser takes its cue from the automaker's FJ40 off-roader, which sold in the U.S. from 1960 to 1983. But the FJ Cruiser is not a retro vehicle.
