Sometimes overlooked -- and wrongly so -- are the many, various and often highly creative events presented by the Clarice Smith Center on the University of Maryland campus in College Park. The Concert Hall seats 1,100; the more intimate Joseph & Alma Gildenhorn Recital Hall has a capacity of 300. Full-scale dramatic works are presented in the 650-seat Ina & Jack Kay Theatre, while smaller productions are housed in the Robert & Arlene Kogod Theatre (200 seats) and the Laboratory Theatre (100 seats). Finally, there is a 180-seat Dance Theatre.
