Harriet Miers Is Right to Admire Chief Justice Burger - The Conservative Voice
Personally, I don't evaluate a person's suitability for the Supremes by makeup. I didn't like it when former Florida Secretary of State and now United States Representative Katherine Harris was criticized from the left for using too much makeup or former First Lady and now United States Senator preparing for 2008 Hillary Rodham Clinton was criticized for using too little. I think the makeup, or lack of makeup, of every United States Supreme Court Justice and nominee and First Lady should not be an issue. To be sure, a nominee's educational background is relevant in my book. Albeit not in the way that it is for Ann Coulter. According to elitist (but not sexist!) Ms. Coulter, Ms. Miers is unfit to be a Supreme because she "went to Southern Methodist University Law School, which is not ranked at all by the serious law school reports and ranked No. 52 by US News and World Report"; the job of Supreme Court justice is "a mind-numbingly tedious job suitable only for super-nerds trained in legal reasoning like John Roberts" (whose nomination Ann also chose to oppose); and "some jobs [like Supreme Court justice] are so dirty, you can only send in someone - more available
