Latest State University College News

Like Downtown College Prep, the district's successful -- and sole -- charter school, University Prep would demand that every student get a C-minus or better in all courses required for admission into a four-year state university. It too would stress parental involvement in school. But while Downtown College Prep targets only underperforming, low-income students, many of them English learners, University Prep would seek a cross-section of students who would be drawn to a rigorous curriculum and a small-school atmosphere.
