Love of Faulkner more than skin-deep - Atlanta Journal Constitution (subscription)
Sriram was born in 1979 in Evanston, Ill. He spent his childhood bouncing from Evanston to the towns of Mount Prospect (which, he noted, gets name checked in "The Blues Brothers") and Oak Brook (which, he noted, is home to McDonald's headquarters). At age 9, Sriram moved with his sister and parents, who are both doctors, to India. He stayed there until 1997, when he traveled back to the Midwest and matriculated at Purdue University. That's where his Faulkner obsession began, eventually taking the form of the tattoo while he was enrolled in a class on American regionalism taught by professor Kip Robisch.
