AGRICULTURE The United States Department of Agriculture appointed Roberto Martinez of Sevier County as the Farm Service Agency state committee member for Arkansas. EDUCATION Steven C. Ricke was named the first holder of the Donald “Buddy” Wray Chair in Food Safety and director of the Center for Food Safety in the Institute of Food Science and Engineering at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Ricke will join the faculty in January. FINANCIAL Northwestern Mutual Financial Network Bertasi Financial Group in Little Rock hired Lisa Rabatin as an investment specialist. Patrick J. Hagge was named city president of Cabot and Jacksonville for Metropolitan National Bank. Stephens Inc. of Little Rock named Mimi Gavigan as account executive for Stephens Insurance Services in the defined benefits group. HEALTH CARE Dr. Fred H. Faas, professor of medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, was elected president of the Southeast Lipid Association. MANUFACTURING SeaArk Boats of Monticello promoted Steve Henderson to vice president of sales and Angela Naron to coordinator of sales. Renee Jones was hired as marketing coordinator. Bill Smith was promoted to plant manager of Firestone Building Products in Prescott. NONPROFIT The Environmental and Spatial Technology (EAST) Initiative of Little Rock - more available
