The private college got a pair of estate contributions for scholarships and to advance studies of liberal arts education. The estate of Robert and Margaret Swift of Orange County gave $1.5 million to the college's student scholarship endowment and the estate of Milton and Mildred Owens, also of Orange County, contributed $1.8 million.
