Wolff nearly had a second goal in the 43 rd minute, missing wide of the post from close range. The Americans, who will be appearing in a fifth consecutive World Cup, finished the year with a 13-3-4 mark, a record number of victories. Before a crowd of 26, 708 at Hampden Park, Wolff made a penalty kick that beat goalkeeper Craig Gordon to his right side.
