Gordon gets Illini love North Central shooting guard Eric Gordon, a consensus top-five recruit in the 2007 class, got a taste of how much Illinois wants him when he attended the Illinois-Penn State football game Oct. 22."It went real good," Gordon said of the unofficial visit. "Fans were chanting my name when I got there. It seemed like they really wanted me there."Fans were chanting Gordon's name both when he went to the basketball practice facility and to the football game later.Gordon said Illinois is still his leader, with Duke, Notre Dame, Missouri, Purdue and Indiana in the mix.With both college and high school teams practicing, with seasons either starting or about to start, college coaches aren't around recruits as much. But they haven't lost contact, thanks to recruiting's latest tool -- text messages."They'll text message you a lot," Gordon said. "As far as seeing them and talking to them, it's kind of quieted down.
