Two veterans added to EKU memorial - WKYT
RICHMOND, Ky. The names of two slain veterans have been added to Eastern Kentucky University's Veterans Memorial.Former Eastern Kentucky students Robert Worthington and James Farmer were added to the memorial wall yesterday.They joined more than 60 other former students, faculty and staff whose deaths were connected to their military service.Worthingon was a Trenton, New Jersey native. He began serving in the Vietnam War in 1970 as private first-class in the Army's Ninth Infantry Division. He was killed in Cambodia on May Fifth that same year.Farmer was a native of Bristol, Virginia. He entered the Vietnam War in 1968 as a lance corporal in the Marines. He was killed after a month in Vietnam.The two names were added at halftime of Eastern Kentucky's football game against Tennessee-Martin. Copyright 2005 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
