Hudson: I took an oath to serve all the citizens of Columbus. To think certain individuals get unfair preferential treatment is simply political mudslinging and misconception. Competitive bidding and campaign finance reporting maintain the transparency of government activity. City council is responsible for voting on issues of land use and development. Thus, council members are frequently briefed by developers, attorneys and neighborhood advocates alike. The doors to my office are open to everyone. In fact, we should be wary of anyone suggesting we lock doors to certain citizens because of who they represent. Good government should be transparent and open to all.
