Saberon THE Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) Crusaders came out strong as it routed University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), 116-77, in the 3rd Gaisano South Cup basketball tournament at the GS SkyGym. Rodolfo Duran showed much firepower, drilling in 28 markers with four steals and six rebounds to boot. His teammates Bryan Jones Rosete and Kirk James Blanco added 24 and 19 points, respectively to lift the Jigger Saniel-coached Crusaders' win in college division 1. Saniel's wards now tote a two-win, one-loss record while 0-6 UIC seems hopeless. The Agro-Industrial Foundation College (AIFC) Sailors sank Emar Learning Center 84-60 in junior division 1 as UIC beat Assumption College of Davao, 74-61, in junior 2-B. Sailor Eugene Torres and UICian Klenzeit Roales were named best player of their respective games in the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP)-sanctioned cagefest. The Holy Child School of Davao and Emar Learning Center cadet teams also won their matches. Holy Child downed ACD, 85-71, while Emar overcame Stella Maris Academy of Davao, 73-63. Smad's mini squad, meanwhile, toyed with the hapless Davao Jones Academy, 86-18.
