Women for Women Workshop and Resource Fair is Saturday - Newport News Times
The Seventh Annual Women for Women Workshop and Resource Fair is from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Embarcadero Resort in Newport. Sign-in and networking is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., with workshops beginning at 8:30 a.m.Co-sponsored by Newport Business and Professional Women, Altrusa International of Yaquina Bay, and Oregon Coast Community College, this workshop is designed to provide convenient access to quality training for women throughout Lincoln County. The theme of the workshop is focusing on the many hats women wear and spotlighting women professionals on subject matters important to today's women. The first session is discussing effective management skills, "Managing Multiple Priorities," presented by Ginny Whiffen. She is the executive director of the Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce and sits on several county task forces, oversees three committees and seven focus groups, volunteers for the Oregon Coast Community College Foundation, Angels Anonymous, and various other community organizations.Kathleen Schonau, RN, BSW, and owner of Aging Wisely with Heartfelt Hands, is discussing, "Coping as Part of the Sandwich Generation."
