Bond cost is reduced - Niles Daily Star
At Monday evenings Board of Education meeting, which is to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Oak Manor Sixth Grade Center, the Board will be asked to approve the application for preliminary qualification of bonds for participation in the Michigan School Bond Qualification and Loan Program.“The next step for us after the board approved the preliminary application is for us to submit our final application to the treasury department,” Law said. “The treasury department then has 30 days to approve it. During that 30 day time period officials from the department will travel to Niles, at which time we will go over our plans and they will look at the buildings in which we are looking to close.The treasury department does have the power to say the building in which the district is looking to close don't need to be, but Law feels confident in the district's plans to close Eastside School, Cedar Lane, Westside and Ellis.
