I’m talking to Dr Phillip Aspinall…the Primate of the Anglican Church of Australia….Up theme:There’s not too much that’s easy about his job at the moment.Doctor Aspinall stands in rather stark contrast to the conservative Archbishop of Sydney Peter Jensen…who opposes the ordination of homosexuals and making women bishops. And though the debate between the two men is theological, it is also one which threatens to spill out into the wider arena --- pitting parishioner against parishioner….It even has the capacity to split the Anglican Church in this country ---right down the middle as well as cause it to break completely from the Church of England in England.It is Doctor Aspinall’s job to keep the church together.
