Sports briefs - Jackson Clarion Ledger
JC creates Gunter scholarship: A scholarship in memory of longtime LSU women's basketball coach Sue Gunter has been established at East Central Community College in Decatur, her alma mater.The scholarship was initiated by Mrs. Jessie Whittle of Newton in honor of her former classmate and friend. Gunter, who died in August, coached women's basketball for 40 seasons, 22 at LSU.
