Wells Fargo Bank has promoted Chad Wegner to manager of its downtiown Corvallis branch. He joined Wells Fargo in 1996 as a teller in Portland and transferred in 1997 to Corvallis, where he has worked as lead teller, personal banker and assistant manager. He has a master’s degree in business administration from Oregon State University.Training & DevelopmentLiz Shaarawi, a medical assistant with Corvallis Family Medicine, has passed an examination to receive certified medical assistant credentials from the American Association of Medical Assistants. The CMA designation indicates that Shaarawi has demonstrated high levels of clinical and administrative knowledge in her profession.Officers & DirectorsTwo local nursery operators have been elected officers of the Oregon Association of Nurseries. Dave Van Essen of Van Essen Nursery in Lebanon is the new president-elect of the association, and Lee Powell of Garland Nursery in Corvallis is the past president. They were installed at the association’s annual convention last month in Bend.The Mid-Valley Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication has elected officers for 2006. They are Dan Zaiss, president; Marcia Chapman, vice president; Lee Rivers, secretary; and Lynn Bonner, treasurer.
