Raiders finish third at home meet - Park Hills Daily Journal
[component:image-cutline] --> PARK HILLS - The North County Invitational cross country meet took place on the campus of Mineral Area College on Saturday, and featured athletes from 16 high schools.The event was dominated by Cape Notre Dame from a team aspect, as the Bulldogs won the varsity boys race while fielding the only full squad for the girls varsity competition. However, several local runners also had strong showings.Notre Dame posted a top team score of 32 with four individual performers placing among the top 10, led by race winner Matt Pfau with a time of 17:50. Saxony Lutheran was second in the team standings with a total of 45, strengthened by two runners in the top four.North County claimed third place with 112 points, just ahead of Arcadia Valley with 130. Farmington ended with a seventh-place mark of 218.Nick Fulton of North County had the best performance among MAAA Conference athletes, finishing sixth with a time of 18:10 after holding off a late surge from Potosi's Jacob Swearingen (18:12).Arcadia Valley junior Mickey King followed in eighth place at 18:14, just ahead of Potosi freshman Evan Kelly (18:17) in ninth.North County and Arcadia Valley tied for the leading number of medalists - more available
