Bishop to make final official visit to St. Andrew's - Baxter Bulletin
Born in in Havre, Mont., he received an undergraduate degree and teaching certification from Northern Montana College in 1967, where he majored in history and English. He earned a master of science degree from Montana State University in 1969, majoring in history and sociology and a master divinity degree from the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas, in 1972. After graduating from ETSSW, Maze served as curate of Holy Spirit Parish at Missoula, Mont., for two years. He moved to Jackson, Miss., where he served as chaplain and head of religious studies at St. Andrew's School for four years. He then became vicar of St. James' Episcopal Church at Port Gibson, Miss., for three years and went back to Jackson where he was rector of All Saints' Church until 1988. Before election as bishop, Maze was rector of the Church of the Nativity at Greenwood, Miss.
