Higher education crunch prods quest for fixes - Palm Beach Post
The initial idea behind allowing community colleges to offer four-year degrees was so students in rural areas who may not have access to a university could get a degree from the local community college. Florida has 28 community colleges with about 100 main and branch campuses.
