Monks bringing message of peace - Monterey County Herald
Gaden Shartse Monastic College was founded by a small group of elder monks and 15 boys who managed to escape the destruction in Tibet during the Chinese occupation in the late 1950s. The monks settled on land given to them by the Indian government in Mundgod, Karnataka, India.
