EDISON — Jerome F. Katcher, former trustee, Foundation Board member and adjunct faculty professor at Middlesex County College, received the Paige D. L’Hommedieu Outstanding Citizenship Award at the State of the College assembly in August. The award, created in 1975 in memory of the founding president of the Board of Trustees, is presented annually to a member of the community who exemplifies the highest humanitarian ideals and devotion to the betterment of his fellow citizens. A former senior financial vice president of the Pathmark Division of Supermarkets General, Katcher served on the Middlesex County College Board of Trustees for more than 13 years, four of them as president. He was a member of the Middlesex County College Foundation for more than 30 years, as both a director and president, has taught accounting as an adjunct professor, was a mentor to business students and served on numerous committees and boards throughout the College. In 1991, his many friends established the Jerome F. Katcher, CPA and Estelle Katcher Business Achievement Award, presented annually to a business major entering the second year of study.
