"HALLOWEEN HOOT," the 7th annual running of the Great Bay 5K Race, Walk and Kids’ Fun Run, will be held at 9 a.m. at the New Hampshire Community Technical College parking lot on Route 33 in Stratham. This is the major fund-raiser for the Sandy Point Discovery Center in Stratham. The Center is the educational facility for the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, one of 26 such reserves in the nation. The Great Bay 5K is a point-to-point race on a USATF-certified course. The Great Bay 5K is the last race in the Seacoast Road Race Series. "Fastest runners" awards will be given at the awards ceremony. For the Great Bay 5K, $250 goes to the first-place finishers, $150 to second-place, and $100 to third-place with a $100 bonus going to a new course record.
