This Sunday Rabbi Neal Katz of Congregation Beth El in Tyler will present "Looking at the Bible Through Jewish Eyes: A Progressive Approach to Reading Text." Rabbi Katz will explore two different approaches to reading the Hebrew Bible for Jews. “One approach involves divine authorship and the ramifications of this belief,” the church press release states. “The other approach is that the bible was written by human beings and this alters the way in which Jews view and relate to the text." Rabbi Katz will explore a biblical story, reading it through the eyes of Jewish traditional interpretation. There will be time for questions during and after his presentation.
