White-Birge ROGERS — Jillian Anne White of Bentonville will become the bride of Dennis Lee Birge of Centerton at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at Chapel on the Creeks. White is the daughter of Sandra and Bob White of Bentonville. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia and works for Bentonville Public Schools as a first-grade teacher at Sugar Creek Elementary School. Birge is the son of Mary and Danny Birge of Pine Bluff. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Arkansas and works as a civil engineer for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. Van der Merwe-Connors FAYETTEVILLE — Dr. Katinka van der Merwe and John Michael Connors, both of Fayetteville, plan to marry at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at St. Catherine’s at Bell Gable Chapel. Van der Merwe is the daughter of Petro and Dr. Lucas van der Merwe of West Fork. She is the granddaughter of Elsje van der Merwe of Pretoria, South Africa, and the late Lucas van der Merwe.
