It is easy for those who recieve a 34% pay increase to assume taxes in Pennsylvania are a manageable expense for the average tax payer. It is also easy to see who Rendell has in his hip pocket. Act 72 is a far cry from relief. Those who do not have money to pay for taxes, surely will not have money to dump into slot machines. Act 72 is a sad excuse for a plan when the average tax payer will receive approx. $300 - 400 in relief and pay thousands in taxes each year. A broader sales tax does not hurt the poor or the ederly.
