Football Team Facing Ohio Bobcats Saturday - BallStateSports.com
Academically Speaking: In the latest NCAA Graduation Rates Report, Ball State's football program ranks first in the country in graduation rate among state-supported institutions with an 88 percent mark . . . Ball State ranks first in the MAC and tied for ninth in the country among all 117 NCAA Division IA institutions in graduation rate among all student-athletes . . . The Cardinals' football program ranks first in the MAC and tied for fifth in the nation overall with its 88 percent graduation rate for the class of 1997-98, which is the one used in the latest NCAA study . . . In the Academic Progress Rate (APR), Ball State scored 983 out of 1,000 possible points, which ranks as the fourth highest score in the nation . . . In addition, the APR Report showed 12 of Ball State's 19 intercollegiate athletic teams scored a perfect 1,000, ranking the university fifth among the country's NCAA Division IA institutions in that category.
