Coach proud of his star Astros pupils - Kansas City Star
After his playing career, Graham turned to coaching, first for eight seasons at Scarborough High, then a year at Spring Branch. In the district championship game with Spring Branch, Graham faced — and beat — a right-hander named Clemens. He topped out at 84 mph. Graham liked the fact that he threw strikes and, with a new job at San Jacinto College, a local junior college, he recruited Clemens.
