Training programs succeed - San Antonio Express (subscription)
When Guenther heard that Palo Alto College was launching a theory-based machine-maintenance certification program this year, the company pledged to pay for tuition, parking, supplies and books for each maintenance tech who enrolled. Eight volunteered for the first session that started in May. The company will shell out about $34,000 per student before they complete the two-year program.
