Is Fountain flood fix feasible? - Pueblo Chieftain
The Lower Ark District has been negotiating with Colorado Springs over the Preferred Storage Options Plan, which could lead to enlarging Lake Pueblo. REGIONAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT Treated wastewater from transmountain flows would be pumped into the exchange reservoir. Downstream farms and communities would be protected from high return flows. 2. FLOOD CONTROL RESERVOIR A reservoir on Fountain Creek would capture floodwaters, return flows, runoff and sewage spills. Water could be pumped back into the Colorado Springs system or gradually released to maintain flows on Fountain Creek. 3. EXCHANGE RESERVOIR A reservoir off-channel southeast of Colorado Springs would provide settling and use wetlands to clean the water. It also may be used for recreation. 4.
