Signs at various points along the train tell about flora and fauna as well as the Missouri Indians who lived in the area. [Click to enlarge] As explained on one of the informational signs along the trail, the river of today is about two miles from the park, but at the time the Missouri village on the site flourished, about 300 years ago, the river's path would change regularly and once flowed next to the hills that are now part of the park.
