The Bee's picks for school boards - Modesto Bee
Steve Collins' vast experience as a Modesto Junior College professor and administrator gives him a broad perspective, especially about students not headed immediately to four-year schools. He believes vocational education needs more emphasis. That said, one of the things he would like to do is remind residents just how good the Modesto school system is, especially in a community with much poverty and a relatively low education level.
