Joseph promoted to brigadier general in Pa. National Guard - Standard-Speaker
Born in Hazleton, he graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with honors in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in police science and corrections. He also graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Northeast Training Academy in 1979; the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, Quantico, Va. in 1993; was certified as a district judge by the Minor Judiciary Education Board of Pennsylvania Courts in 1995 and earned a master's degree in public administration from Shippensburg University in 1998. In addition to graduating from the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School, Joseph also graduated from the U.S. Army Military Police School, Fort Gordon, Ga.; Officer Basic and Advance Courses, U.S. Army Engineer School at Fort Belvoir, Va.; the U.S. Army Command the General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; U.S. Army War College National Security Seminar, Carlisle; Senior Transportation Officer Course, Fort Eustis, Va.; and the United States Army War College's Class of 1998, Carlisle Barracks.
