New disaster training facility unveiled in Taylor - WLNS
TAYLOR, Mich. A new disaster training facility at Wayne County Community College District's Downriver campus features a lake for water rescues, a fire tower and simulators for rescue missions.The Michigan Institute for Public Safety Education was unveiled yesterday during a symposium on homeland security at the campus.The institute will provide training in homeland security, firefighting, law enforcement, emergency medical services and industrial emergency response.Construction of the about six (M) million dollar facility began in 2004.
