Hurricane evacuees seek help in poverty-stricken regions - CNN International
Lake Providence, Louisiana, a community of 5,000 residents, swelled by 1,000 in the days leading up to and following Katrina. Mayor Isaac Fields said he had no idea so many were coming. After all, Lake Providence is 280 miles from New Orleans, and there's not much waiting when you get there.
