The bride-to-be is a 1990 graduate of Crisfield High School and a 2002 graduate of Sojourner-Douglass College in Salisbury with a Bachelor of Arts degree in early childhood education. She is employed as a second grade teacher for Somerset County public schools in Princess Anne. She is also the owner of Joni's Beauty Supply in Crisfield.
